  • Hello.

I’m getting an error when using this plugin. when trying to add a comment users are getting this error: ERROR: Could not read CAPTCHA token file.

All folders have the correct permissions but still same error.

I disabale W3 Total Cache and then it works.

    Any suggestions?

Im also opening a ticket with W3 Total Cache developers

  • Never had this complaint, so I am not aware of the cause.
You could try changing this setting:
Uncheck “Use CAPTCHA without PHP session”
    Does it work now?

If you need more help, a URL to the site with the problem would be helpful.

    I get the cookie error

ERROR: Could not read CAPTCHA cookie. Make sure you have cookies enabled and not blocking in your web browser settings. Or another plugin is conflicting.

But when i run the test everything pass. I’ll send you the link via the 642weather site

I do not know the cause… What do the W3 Total Cache developers say?

I’m still waiting on his reply. I’ll let you know

Still no response from the developer. Do you know of any settings i would have to change within w3 total cache to make this work?

Anyone else using these 2 plugings that can help me out?

Try Nu-Captcha instead, i just installed it and using it with no problems here. I have w3tc installed with it as well.

I was able to somehow login without entering a captcha at all with si-captcha so I sought out something new.

Nucaptcha uses a small video instead of a distorted image which you can customize/brand if you want to. The only thing is that nu-captcha requires a login.. not sure why except for the customization they offer.

The only other reservation I have.. is that its a rather new plugin and not many reviews on this forum.

    I get this error
This WordPress configuration is not able to run the NuCaptcha plugin.

Reason: NuCaptcha requires the mcrypt extension to be installed and enabled.

Hmm I’m not sure what that is but I’m sure the people at Nucaptcha would help you out on that. I’ve been in contact with them already, and so far they been very attentive/helpful.

    Hi Invi2003..

In my blog, there is no problems with both the plugin. The only problem I encountered was the first time I install the plugin W3 Total Cache. The problem I get is about file permissions in the directory / wp-content/plugins/si-captcha-for-wordpress/captcha-secureimage (should be 777). After I change from 755 to 777, eventually the two plugins can work well:). I use the plugin “SI Captcha version 2.7” with “W3 Total Cache version” on my blog (WordPress 3.1); (You can try to give a comment there;))

I hope my response can be a little help for your problems
Sorry if my English is not good: oops:
