Shows the same Posts as on the page already..

This widget has “Do not list the current post” box, which works fine if you are on the certain page displaying the post. But if you are on the home page or any Category page listings posts, the widget in the side bar shows exactly the same posts… so basically you see the same posts in the page and also in the sidebar. And that looks odd, like a repetition of the same content.

I changed to “Show posts in random order”, which improved the experience a little, but still shows some of exact posts as in the page already. I found some similar plugins and they actually offer to exclude (offset) some first 5-6 Posts from the widget so there is no repetition on the home page. Although it will help with the home page, still I don’t think it’s a good idea because the 2nd page will have the same problem and it’s not a good idea to completely offset my latest 5 entries anyway.

Is there a way to exclude posts in the widget that are already shown in the main content?

Another must have for this plugin is “Show Post Category” with In – doesn’t have hyperlink. So if says “In REVIEWS” – the word REVIEWS must be a link to REVIEWS category page. Otherwise there is no reason to display it.

Other than that plugin is very useful and all images are responsive when I reduce the size of the window.
