    Hi,

I have found this plugin extremely useful for our website but I have an issue with the star rating not showing in Google search results for our homepage.

Our main review page here http://wonderofwords.co.uk/reviews/ shows up great in search results with the number of stars clearly shown. That page includes the review form, summary and display of current reviews. You can see these results I get by searching site:wonderofwords.co.uk/

However, on our homepage http://wonderofwords.co.uk/ we have the reviews summary and the very last review left by a customer but no stars show in Google search for the homepage.

I have tested the homepage with Google’s structured data testing tool and all is showing fine.

Therefore, can you offer any advise on how to get the stars to display in search results for my homepage the same as they do for the review page? Am I doing something wrong?

    Many thanks,

    Hi,

Thank you for the link. I have checked all the data as discussed within that linked article including using the structured data testing tool and also webmaster tools which shows the correct Schema detailed on the homepage and reviews page.

Checking the data for both the reviews page and the homepage using these tools (including the preview) produces the same results so both are implemented fine.

However, the stars show on the review page in Google results but not the homepage so I really can’t understand why this would be the case?

Any further advice would be very much appreciated.

    Many thanks.

Unfortunately I cannot think of any other additional advice to give you other than to use the Google Webmaster Tools to try and track down issues with your website.

Since the schema markup of the plugin has been verified correct by the Google Structured Data Testing Tool, I suspect that the problem with the schema not showing up in the search results for your homepage is due to other factors.

It seems that the reviews on your website are for specific products and not for the website itself. It would make sense in this case that Google does not show the rating on your homepage in the search results as that would be misleading.

I’m going to mark this issue as resolved for now.

To followup on this topic, an easy way to verify the the schema is being generated correctly is to load the URL of your webpage in Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool.

If the schema is being read correctly by Google, you should see a green “PREVIEW” button on the schema type that you have selected in the Site Reviews settings (for example, the schema type set in your Site Reviews settings is “LocalReview”).

And clicking the green button gives you this:
