Hey @pengarah, can you add a screenshot of your plugins page for us to see?

Also, if you check in the Screen Options tab in the top right of your plugins page, what do you see in the “Number of items per page” option?

    Hi Mel

The ‘Screen Options’ & ‘Help’ tabs for Plugins although not grey-out does not work. Tabs for post, media, pages works fine.

When I try to look at that screenshot, I get an error:

Are you getting any errors in your browser’s developer console? https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors#Step_3:_Diagnosis

Sorry, you should be able to see the screenshot now.

Can you check if you’re seeing any developer console errors, using those above instructions?

I see a whole load of message when I’m in Firefox developer console. I don’t understand any. It will take 3 screenshot to capture the entire message.

    Mel,

I’m no geek. Got the screenshots of browser’s developer console. What do I do next?

    Chrome

    Firefox

I’m now on WordPress 5.0.2. Tried deactivating all visible plugins but problem still occurs. I’m at a total loss. Is my server the problem ? HELP. Thanks in advance.

Are you able to view all inactive plugins, or do they also get cut off?

Yes. I can see all Inactive plugins (whatever the plugins name are). The ‘Screen Options’ & ‘Help’ tab works here.

Under ‘All’ & ‘Active’ any plugins name starting with alphabets Q to Z gets cut off although it still works and can be managed through the sidebar.
The ‘Screen Options’ & ‘Help’ tab does NOT work when it’s in ‘All’ or ‘Active’

Okay — I think whichever active plugin you have installed, that appears alphabetically after “PHP Text Widget,” is what’s causing the error. If you can log into your FTP, you can manually go into wp-content/plugins and delete whichever plugin comes next alphabetically. Maybe just move it out of that directory for now to see if removing it works.

I’ve moved out all plugins named Q – Z and transfered back one-by-one. Each and every one works and problem SOLVED. Yes, it works now. Only I’m not able to narrow down the offending plugin as all plugins (activated or deactivated) are back to status quo like before and things just works!

Thanks so much & happy holidays.
