# Show/Hide Categories

 * I think when you add the “categories” widget, it should have the option to toggle
   which categories show up in the list. So you can hide “uncategorized”. Also this
   way you’d be able to have two category widgets that show different categories.

 * Best way to address both your wishes is to install [Otto’s PHP Code Widget](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/php-code-widget/),
   and then, in one or more of those widgets, use the [template tag](http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags),
   [wp_list_categories()](http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/wp_list_categories),
   with the **exclude=** parameter.

 * I’m not sure how that will affect me when I upgrade my version of wp, but we 
   shall see.
