Support » Theme: Twenty Eleven » Showcase under one-column Twenty Eleven?

  • Is there something I’m missing about getting Showcase to work when using Twenty Eleven under it’s “One-column, no sidebar” setting? If I turn on a showcase page, it displays the Featured Post(s) in the showcase area, but then the Recent Posts area displays as if it’s expecting a sidebar to be present. (No link available at the moment as the site in question is behind a “Coming Soon” barrier.)

the ‘showcase’ is a page template which overwrites the theme layout setting. (full stop)

to have a ‘single column showcase’, you would need to extensively edit the template showcase.php, or create a new template for that purpose.

Actually, it turns out not all that extensive. Delete the Asides sidebar code, change CSS width on the recent posts section, and barring some tweaks, that appears to be it.

Actually, scratch that. The showcase area itself needs some work, too. I guess I mainly was hoping someone had already theme hacked this to work. Heh.
