• You can create thumbnails, but there is no link to them in the html that is generated as a result. I’ve modified my upload.php to give a link to the image and, if there was a thumbnail generated, a link to the thumbail and a link to the larger image using the thumbnail image as the link (instead of just an img tag).

I don’t see a way to submit patches though and it doesn’t make a lot of sense to post the file in this little search box. How would I give my diff or upload.php file to WP for possible inclusion?

  • Others have posted their code snippet for people to change their upload.php file to do that same thing. I’m not sure why this hasn’t been included, but I guess I would assume they don’t want it for some reason, otherwise they would have included it by now? I don’t know just my thoughts. 🙂

I would just post back here in case someone searches on this and finds your thread, that way they will know how to do it.

Jeepers, well if you could email me the code, I would appreciate it !!!!

    Thanks in advance !!!

P.S. Why don’t you just post it on your website in a static page or something ?????

It seems strange that others’ fixes for this problem have not been accepted. It also seems strange to me that there isn’t a way to submit patches officially to the dev team. I’m not used to the php world though so maybe that isn’t common here.

I’ve emailed it to RazorSA and a few others who have requested it. If the dev team would like the change just let me know… otherwise I guess I will just have to keep updating/replacing my file with each WP upgrade.

It seems like a big bug though for anyone interested in using images and/or thumbnails (why give the option if you don’t provide a way to link to them)?
