Show TAX charges in woocommerce checkout based on the billing/shipping address

    Hello everybody,

    I’m trying to understand how to show TAX charges in woocommerce checkout based on the billing/shipping address.

    Example:

    I want to show the 20% VAT charge for customer who enters the UK as billing/shipping address. For all the other countries I don’t want to show any charges.

    I’ve tried the below option but it doesn’t work:

    Woocommere → settings → Tax → calculate tax based on: customer billing/shipping address.

    Does anybody know how to do it?

    Thank you for the answer.

    I’ve tried all of that already but unfortunately it doesn’t work.

    I’ve set the rate for the UK and changed the calculate tax based on: customer billing/shipping address.

    However, when I get to the check out and enter the UK billing/shipping address , it doesn’t show the VAT charges

    Hello,

    Can you go to WooCommerce > settings > tax and then please send screenshots of the following settings:

    — Tax options
    — Standard rates
    — Reduced rate rates
    — Zero rate rates

    You can send them via https://snipboard.io – please follow the instructions on that page, then paste the URL in this thread.

    Also, please share a copy of your site’s System Status: You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. 

    That will help to take a closer look, thanks.

    I was trying to check the Standard rates screenshot but the rate info is not visible can you please send this again?

    Regarding your screenshot, is that the check out? and how have you set the tax settings on the product page? Because I don’t want to show the tax on single item but only on check out and only when the billing/shipping address is UK.

    Hello,

    Yes, it is the checkout, yes my product details look the same as yours.

    Can you please go to your standard rates, i.e. WooCommerce > settings > tax > standard rates, and adjust the priority, please note the priority work from the top of the table to the bottom. So the first row should be the UK rate, and the second should be the rest of the world rate.

    Hi @ihereira,

    Thank you for your suggestions. It seems to be working now, although only at the check out and not at the cart page. But this isn’t a big issue.

    I’ll go ahead and tick this issue as resolved.
