Show Search & Filter Bar Horizontally not Vertically

I would like to show my search and filter bar horizontally not vertically. Similar to one of your sample images. I have made my search-tag-filter box, but it will only display vertically, I would like it to show side by side. I have read other comments about css, but not being overly technical I am struggling on how to change the display. Please could you provide me with some simple instructions on how to fix my problem. I am using the basic plugin. Your help would be much appreciated. Many thanks.
