I have searched around and read parts of the docs, but I’m afraid I haven’t found anything readily available for my “issue” – I am trying to learn how to modify WP so that if is_home() returns true, WP will only show posts from a single, specific category ID.
There are just too many support articles, and the documentation is huge. I could sit here all day and read it all, but I’m not sure where to start.
The idea sounds easy enough, but is it? A point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
PS, I am using JD-wordpress – yea, Joomla. It’s kind of weird, and the main loop (page, and post) are integrated into a different file, jd-wp.html.php – At this point, I am unsure as to what other “stock” files this system uses.
Though it does integrate decently with joomla, and I have successfully replaced the default content manager with WP. This is my first attempt at using WP, but I feel it is a hugely superior replacement.
The idea here, is to have a site that supports a magazine. The print magazine runs monthly, so ideally, I would have categories “October 2006” – etc, post each issue article in the proper category, each new category being the next succeeding month.
Hope I made sense just then. Thanks!
