Show parent grouped product as main item without price and quantity selection

Hello everyone,

I saw the setting in WPC Grouped Products that the parent grouped product can be displayed in the shopping cart. However, it is displayed as a separate item above the simple products. I can also select either zero-price or normal-price for the parent grouped product and there is also a quantity selection for the grouped product.

Is it possible to show the grouped product, but with no price (not even null) and no quantity selection, and the associated simple products indented underneath? This would make it clearer to the customer that the parent grouped product is not a separate item and only the associated simple products below it count. By indenting the simple products, it would also be much clearer if there were other grouped products with associated simple products in the shopping cart.

Hi @beymedia,

By default, WooCommerce requires every product to have a price for the Add to cart button to be displayed. Whichever kind of pricing you’re using for your products, you MUST always put a price in the General tab of the Product data section. Even if you don’t use this price for your composite, just put any number in that tab and choose the pricing method normally, then the Add to Cart button will be visible.

Hello and thanks for the feedback.

I’ve tried to formulate my problem as best as I can, but obviously the topic was totally missed. I may not understand your answer, but I’m not trying to show an “Add to Cart” button.

My problem is that the main product (grouped product) is shown as an independent product in the shopping cart. You can turn it off, I know. But then only the simple linked products can be seen in the shopping cart. I want to achieve the following:

The main product (grouped product) should be visible as a parent product in the shopping cart (for me they only serve as a kind of design choice, the associated simple products are decisive because this is how the customer selects the specifications).It should not be possible to adjust the quantity. It should also not be possible to remove the main product from the shopping cart because it only serves as a kind of design choice.

If the simple linked products are removed, the main product should disappear automatically. The corresponding linked simple products should be visible below (if possible indented) and only here a quantity adjustment in the shopping cart should be possible.

Is that somehow feasible?

You can’t do that in this plugin.

WPC Grouped Products plugin allows users to group items to be purchased together but still remained as individual products: removed one of the grouped items or the main product from the cart won’t affect others.

With WPC Grouped Products, simple, variable, or selected variations of some variable products can be grouped for customers’ convenience in purchasing a large number of items in a collection. Customers can adjust to any quantity or remove any item based on their preferences.

For your purpose, you can try another plugin: WPC Product Bundles for WooCommerce or WPC Composite Products for WooCommerce
