  • Does anyone know of a plugin that shows only “today’s” posts? This would be for a news site. It would need to adjust the number of posts shown to match the number of posts added today, ie. with today’s date.

If there is not a plugin for this, is there an easy way to go about getting this functionality?

  • In the admin control panel, under Options > Reading, you can set “Show at most:” to 1 day. Would that work for you?

Leave it to me to miss the obvious… Yeah, that works perfectly. Thanks.

Well, not perfectly, I guess. After a poking around a little more to see if that setup would work, I found that search results showed up reverse chronologically by day. If a search brings up 4 results and the posts are from 4 different days, you have to view 4 separate pages of search results instead of getting back a list of 4 results on one page. Is there a way around this? Is there a way to override the global configuration option on only the search results page?

Thanks for the link. I’ve installed the CQS (Custom Query String) plugin, configured it, and it looks very much like it will work for me.

What I want for my news website is a cover page that shows titles and excerpts for today’s posts at HOME.PHP with a normal ribbon of all the posts underneath it at INDEX.PHP.

I have spent days reading through the entire CODEX and browsing the support forums, and have not found the answer I need.

Other weblogs (Typepad and some others) have a list of links to the recent posts in the sidebar. How do they do that?

What I am looking for is a way to create a “splash” page with an overview of all the material, similar to

Is there a way to modify the get_archives command in ARCHIVES.PHP to return just the posts for today?
