Support » Plugin: Theme My Login » Show only Registration Link instead of all fields?

    Hi,

In trying to configure TML I somehow inadvertently set something that now shows the fields needed for registration on all pages of my site where the TML widget is displayed. Rather I just wanted the Register link, Login/Logout links to appear as appropriate for the Logged In or Logged out condition.

Previously the Registration link was never displayed and I attempted to fix this by selecting the “Show Action Links” in the Storefront theme customization.

Now I have those fields and a Register button, but turning off that check box doesn’t get rid of them. They are always there and there is no way to get just the Registration link that I can find?

Can you help me figure out what I’m doing wrong?

What I thought the TML widget should look like is:

    Dashboard
    Profile
Login (or Logout if logged in)
Register (This wasn’t ever showing and what I was trying to get)

Now I have the Email, User name and PW fields and then the Registration button with these links below that sort of lost.

    Lost Your Password?

    Thanks,
    Mark

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I am not seeing this on your site at all…

    Jeff,
How can I reply and add some pictures? Your email comes from a noreply address? And I can’t figure out how to paste them in in this editor.

    Thanks,

You have to use an external site to post pictures here. Try https://imgbb.com or https://imgur.com.

    Thanks Jeff. Hopefully this works.

    Jeff,

I’d been fooling with this for a few days and came up with this as a solution for the moment. I created a Registration and Login menu item and moved the TML widget out of the way.
This at least provides me with the ability to have that function available but not as cleanly as I’d hoped. The TML widget is down at the bottom of the screen otherwise it overrides the other menu in the Sidebar.
Prior to me trying to get a Registration link to show up it coexisted perfectly with that menu. Now, not so much.

With me logged in it looks like this and the widget hidden at the bottom looks this way.

If I put it back the way it was before I monkeyed with it and now it is behaving differently that it did, but not the same as before I started in on it to try to get a Registration link along with the Login. the difference is that now it has these fields for login rather than just a Login link? It is back to the same as I can figure out but something has changed?
It’s as if there si some sort of “order of operations” that is critical that I don’t at all understand.

But what I was originally trying to get was just what is in the previous picture with
    Dashboard
    Profile
    Log Out

Except when Logged out it would be

    Registration

And not have the Registration fields cover up the other menu:
    SHOP
    CART
    CHECK OUT
    Profile
    My Account

    Jeff,

Also, is there a way to have the TML widget only appear on certain pages rather than every page? Not a big deal just thought I’d ask since on one page it overlays some pictures slightly.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Jeff,

Did those images show up properly for you?

    Thanks,

The widget shows the form by design. No malfunction there. As far selective widget display, I’d suggest a plugin such as “Dynamic Widgets”.
