First great Plygin. I was able to easily get this via the widget. However, I would like to place the shortcode into the body of a page. Is this possible. When I use the shortcode from the widget do I get the default image on the page (New York). I am guessing I am missing something.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello furilla,

It is possible and you are missing something (FAQ – how to set a widget in an article)

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/weather-atlas/#how%20to%20place%20weather%20widget%20in%20the%20article%3F

Please read the instructions, and if you have a problem with choosing a location and styling the widget, after reading other FAQ, please contact us again.

Hi guys at Weather Atlas! im having the same issue and nothing has worked. It seems this question never gets fully resolved per thread. What we are trying to do is install the same location specific widget in the content of a page or post and the answer keeps being yes from you guys… but thats not entirely accurate right? It seems we can install the default location selector only in content. To anyone using this app its a bit misleading, if I am correct, you don’t allow us to use the same customization options in content as we can otherwise?

Thanks for your time and support. I’f im missing something please let me know!

Works perfectly… I used the following shortcode:

    [shortcode-weather-atlas city_selector=2358376  layout=”Vertical” background_color=”rgba(30,115,190,0.96)” daily=5]

The way I set it up was to place it first in the widget, Put in the city then grab the shortcode to place it on a page. I actually kept the one in the widget but you could remove it after you get the shortcode.

    Hello furilla,

We are glad you have successfully set up the widget.
The way to set the default location for shortcode is by choosing the location, as you are setting up the sidebar widget, get the city selector (grab the shortcode) and then configure other options manually. When you are finished the temporary sidebar widget is obsolete and you can remove it.

If you have more efficient (without complications and double coding) suggestion we are open to suggestions.

    Hello zpollitt14,

The widget has the same options for single in-article and sitewide sidebar positions. (incl. default location)

WordPress has different ways for presenting widgets. As a placed widget and using shortcode. (Technically you can place shortcode in the sidebar and a widget in a single page)

If you have problem with setup please elaborate on your specific issue, so we can assist you.
