    Hi,

Like many people here I’m moving on from Display Widgets to Widget Options, and I really like it (especially with the migration widget!).

However there was one very useful option on DW that I can’t see how to emulate: You had a drop-down “Show Widget for : Everyone/Logged-in users/Not logged in users”

Is this possible with Widget Options ? I have some sites with membership management where I absolutely need this feature. If it’s in “Other settings/logic” like the individual show/hide, it’s OK but I find it a little clunky compared to DW.

If not possible yet, it would be nice to put in on the roadmap.

    Thanks for the good work!

    Hi,

Thank you very much for choosing Widget Options and I’m really glad that you are loving the plugin features. Regarding your concern, the user role restriction is currently available on the premium version – Extended Widget Options. If you don’t want to upgrade you can use the Display Widget Logic option and add use is_user_logged_in(). Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Ok, I saw the user role feature in the premium version, but I didn’t realize it could be used for this purpose as well.
Unfortunately the site is one I’m doing for free for a nonprofit, so no paying plugins… I’ll see how it goes with your suggestion. It also relies very heavily on conditional widget placement, so it’s a hassle to migrate!

    Thanks anyway

The is_user_logged_in() is also included on the migration 🙂 If you set Display Widgets to logged in or out users, it will automatically be added on the Display Widget Logic option.
