Show/Hide plugin tab on WordPress dashboard

    Hello
    I have a problem regarding WordPress. A few months ago I had a website development company who made a WordPress website for me. It was made with wp bakery. I have not been able to contact them for the past month, they don’t answer their phone or the email. I am worried that they closed down
    during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    My problem is that the plugins tab from the WordPress backend dashboard is missing, I think the website development company hid it while making the website. I am new to WordPress and I don’t know how to fix it. I have an admin-level account for the website. I need to install new plugins and update old ones as the website is malfunctioning.

    Please help in this regard.

    Hi,
    I think that the development company has made that menu hide to protect your site from installing plugins, that is helpful in some condition.
    You can unhide the menu but first, we need to find out what method that company has used to hide menus, I mean to say that we can hide WordPress Admin Menu using several methods you need to find out which one they used.
    Let’s try to solve this. Can you list the number of active plugins and their name also the active theme?
    You can easily do this by using the Site Health feature of WordPress. Login to your dashboard head over to tools click on Site Health at the top of the Site Health page you are able to see tabs of Status and Info click on Info and there you will see a button written copy site info to clipboard on it, it will copy all info of your site that is helpful in debugging. Now Paste the details here in this forum btw I don’t need all details you can remove all details except ### wp-active-theme ### and ### wp-plugins-active ###.

    Thanks so much for your reply.
    Unfortunately, I can’t see the Site Health under tools. I can only see the options Import, Export, Export personal data.
    I can just see that it was made with WP bakery. Is there maybe a different location for me to check what theme was used?

    No, I don’t have cpanel access either. I go to www.(my domain name).com/wp-admin and was only given authentication for that login. I didn’t know about hosting and cpanels until googling and finding out what is is now.. I actually don’t know who is hosting my website as I paid a once-off fee to the development company.
