# Show custom field value with shortcode

 * I’m curious if this plugin will support a use case I have. I need to get the 
   value of a custom field from the current User (registered/logged in user scenario
   only). I need to pull this single value (text field) into a widget/UI control
   field by using a shortcode. Is this scenario possible? Thank you.

 * Yes, it is possible by using the [Usermeta shortcode](https://www.cozmoslabs.com/docs/profile-builder-2/developers-knowledge-base/shortcodes/display-user-meta/).
 * You can activate this shortcode by going to Profile Builder->Settings->Advanced
   Settings->Shortcodes->Enable Usermeta shortcode.
