    Hi,

    I recently noticed that Show Controls option is disabled (unchecked checkbox), and this makes accessibility for playing embedded YouTube videos considerably degraded, and confusing to novice users. I was not aware that this option was disabled, and as far as I can remember, I did not deactivate it on purpose.

    After gathering some old db backups, I managed to at least locate that this happened during an update some time back in July 2020 (or so). I do not keep all old backups, so precise update period is not possible for me to determine.

    db backups – “controls” option values

    2018-NOV
    s:8:\”controls\”;i:2;

    2019-JUN
    s:8:”controls”;i:2;

    2020-JUL
    s:8:\”controls\”;i:0; (notice the change of int value to 0)

    2020-DEC
    s:8:\”controls\”;i:1; (fixed after I noticed the issue) (also notice the change of int value to 1 instead of 2 as in old versions from 2018-2019)

    Examining a local mirror, which is not as regularly updated, I also noticed that the option became disabled (unchecked checkbox).

    In 2018 and 2019 that option “controls” had an integer value of 2 in database. However, at later mid 2020 point it became 0. It cannot be a coincidence that I left unchecked both dev and prod sites by accident. Although, it could be that I left this unchecked on purpose, I do not have a clear recollection of doing it. Also, I rarely change any option in YT plugin itself, just few tweaks during init install and that’s it.

    In any case, my point is if you can test this on your end, and also ask few users for a feedback to see if this checkbox is also unchecked on their websites as well. It greatly impacts usability by hiding sliders and controls.

    Thanks
    Regards
