Should I use pages or categories or both for content / navi? (3 posts)

I try to use wordpress as a cms for my sports club. Would you suggest to use pages or posts within categories? What would be the advantages of both? I can see that the classic way would be to work with static pages and arrange them accordingly on the navi. However I heard about ways to use posts / pages within categories, that would provide a better solution.
Thanks for your insights in advance.

Pages are meant to be more 'static' in nature. Pages cannot be categorized.

If your content is going to be changing and you want keep showing current and up-to-date content then posts and Category Templates might be the way to go.

    Hi Michael,
    thanks for the response.
As pages are static, I plan to only place things like address etc. on static pages. All team pages should be ordered in categories.
Is there a way to display the posts within the categories according to my wishes and not to an order by date or alphabet?
I also found a plugin which is called "page category organiser".
With this plugin, you should be able to categorise pages. Did anyone use it?
