I’m at a stage with the site I built now where I want to make sure that it loads fast as grows. I’m in the process of re-imagaing and optimizing photos as recommended by some speed sites..I’m also trying to reduce the amount of plugins I have.
I am reading where too many widgets slow you down too. I’m wondering if this is the case for text widgets with html code in them? My footer has 4 widgets along the bottom, 2 with text/html and 2 WP links/blogrool widgets. See here at http://www.thereaganvision.org
These are rarely if ever going to change and I am wondering if I should instead go code the footer with HTML to create these and get rid of the widgets all together.
I didn’t know since these widgets were WordPress’s own widgets and are pretty simple, that it would be a waste of time to transpose these to direct html in the footer.
