I just created a new site with about 4 pages and 2 blog post. It’s currently installed using a subdomain and subfolder.

Question is, would it be easier for me to just start all over or transferring it to the new host and new domain?

I looked over at some examples on how to transfer and it’s confusing as heck.

  • If it is only four pages and two blog posts, I would think copying and pasting the content to the new site installation would be the easiest. Of course, you will need to work to update image paths and such as those will most likely change when you upload, and if the content has been indexed by a search engine you may want to setup some redirections (or just ignore it until the search engine resets).

That said, it can be highly beneficial to learn the site migration process. Much easier to learn with a small site than wait until you have a big site. The WordPress Codex provides a pretty detailed walk-through of the process, and many hosts will help you with that process too. For your convenience, the link is: Moving_WordPress

Yeah, I guess learning how to do it can’t hurt. I found a great video on youtube that guides you every step of the way.

Save me about $60 bucks from paying someone else to do it.
