    Having backups and good security are how I keep things maintained, and that really paid off just yesterday after something had gone horribly wrong and a complete restoration was available.

    Thank you friends your replies. Still I’m not move my blog into WordPress.org. Can you please tell me,

    Some day’s I can’t log-in to the WordPress.org dude to my office work. I have a limited time. So I need to know, are there any due/must have daily maintenance for WordPress self hosting server and WordPress blogs. For instance you guys mention “Cache management“, “daily backup” and “good security“, etc. So are they daily task that every blogger should do? If i fail to do them daily, what happen to my blog and server?

    I think daily backup should do only if i published or update the blog post. Am i correct?

    Thanks!

    There really should not be anything that you “have” to do every day. Yes, if you make major changes, then you’ll want to back-up, but you certainly don’t need to fuss with it every day. Optimization is not a daily chore either.

    Thank you WPyogi your quick replay. 😀

    But are you running your own server? That’s maybe different from paying for hosting — in which case, they take care of the server maintenance.

    I think you ask own mean, VPS or dedicated server? No I have a shared hosting server account with dedicated IP address.

    I use WordPress recommended Bluehost, shared server with dedicated IP. I’m going to host two blogs on that shared host. So are there any shared hosting server daily must have maintains?

    You’re in fine shape then – they have a good reputation for good support and management, so I would not worry about the server side of things unless they tell you something specific (unlikely). That’s what you are paying for!

    Oh, but what I meant was whether you have your own server – i.e. at your house or office that you are managing yourself. But in that case, you would not be asking this question here — LOL – as you’d need to know quite a lot to do that properly.

    I have exactly the same setup with two sites. Go here and get this backup service:
    https://my.bluehost.com/cgi/bm

    Just a few days ago, I made a wrong click while setting up my second site and messed things up at my first site, and Alex in Tech Support at BlueHost used the BlueHost backups to make everything perfect again.

    Along with that, I would recommend these three things:

    1) Changing your admin username and ID#;
    2) Akismet;
    3) BulletProof Security.
