Support » Plugin: Optimize Database after Deleting Revisions » Should have better tools for selectively deleting revisions

  • This plugin basically does as described, but because its title specifically mentions “Deleting Revisions,” it should really have better tools for doing so. It’s all or nothing. If a plugin is designed to CLEAN a database, it shouldn’t require ADDING A CUSTOM FIELD for ignoring certain posts/pages, which doesn’t get cleaned up if you ever uninstall. There should be a better interfaces, with checkboxes for which revisions to delete/keep. And there should also be a “Delete” button added to each revision when editing a post, like it’s done with “Thin Out Revisions” plugin.

    Hey frame25,

Please, read the docs before adding these kinds of comments!

If you would have read the documentation, you should know a ‘keep_revisions’ custom field already has been added in March 2016:

    4.1.4 [03/02/2016]
NEW: Custom field ‘keep_revisions’, for excluding the deletion of revisions for specific posts/pages

Excluding specific posts/pages from deleting revisions
If you want to keep revisions for a specific post/page (no matter what the other settings are), create a custom field named ‘keep_revisions’ for that post/page and give it the value ‘Y’

There should be a better interfaces, with checkboxes for which revisions to delete/keep.

No idea what you mean by that…

And there should also be a “Delete” button added to each revision when editing a post, like it’s done with “Thin Out Revisions” plugin.

    I will look into that.

    peace,
    Rolf
