    Peeps

First time user here…. i have set up the api key for my staging site.

From my form the initial “confirm” email is sent. Great.

When i accept the registration in my email I am expecting the activated follow-up email to be sent – but it isn’t. The email is set to deliver “immediately” upon successful registration to one list and is activated

    1.
Does the fact that the initial accepatance email is sent mean my SPF and DKIM for my flywheel site is correct ?

    2.
This is a staging site only – could that be why the follow-up email is not sent ?

    3.
My Default Reply-To address is not real – could this be the reason ?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @ursulaniamh,

I believe you’re referring to a Welcome Email, right? In this case, please check this article:

    Troubleshooting Welcome Emails

    Now answering your questions:

    1. Does the fact that the initial accepatance email is sent mean my SPF and DKIM for my flywheel site is correct ?

Not necessarily. It means the sending is working, but you still may need to set up a DKIM record if you experience deliverability issues.

    2. This is a staging site only – could that be why the follow-up email is not sent ?

There’s no problem in testing the plugin from a staging website. As long as the website is live and everything is properly set up, it should work.

    3. My Default Reply-To address is not real – could this be the reason ?

It could affect your deliverability, but despite this issue, we strongly recommend adding a valid email address as the Reply-To address.

    Bruna, thanks for the reply.

Heres what seems to be happening in my WordPress build:

A welcome newsletter is only sent to a named email address one time – this rule is not changed by deleting the subscriber in the dashboard or by rejoining that subscriber to the list again.

Once sent to a subscribers email that “Welcome Email” cannot be sent again even if I delete, reload and re-subscribe that same subscriber. Is that right ?

From a devs POV thats a PITD ( pain in the derrière ) – because I test on my single gmail account time and time again until things look right…

    Hi @ursulaniamh,

No, that’s not how it’s supposed to work. If you delete a subscriber permanently (by deleting it also from the Trash) and manually subscribe it again through the form, the Welcome Email should be triggered again.

Can you please let us know if you have completely removed the subscriber from the Trash from the MailPoet > Subscribers page?

    Hi there @ursulaniamh!

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
