Support » Plugin: Adaptive Images for WordPress » should be in wordpress core

  • A few years back, as popular as mobile website use is, I realized how important it is to serve adaptive images. It makes sense to serve a small image to a small screen size, instead of slowing everything down with a large image (which the user can’t even benefit from). I struggled with the original adaptive images script, and then this was created. That only thing that confuses me is what more websites don’t use this? Thank you very much for creating this plugin.

Hello, my friend, thank you for your feedback.

I guess what this plugin does cannot be considered exactly “standard”. Good thing is that WordPress allows to easily extend it with such functionality via its plugins.

Also, as CDNs and caching servers are becoming more mainstream, there is still a gap there for this plugin to fill!

    Cheers,
    Takis
