Support » Plugin: All In One WP Security & Firewall » ShortPixel being blocked

Hi I use the ShortPixel plugin to optimize images on upload and ever since I installed “All in One WP Security” it’s being blocked.

I even disabled and completely deleted “All in One WP Security” and ShortPixel is STILL not working. I believe this is because the security plugin changed something in my WordPress settings that I’m not aware of.

Any ideas how to get this corrected?

As a way to troubleshoot I also tried disabling EVERY plugin on my site and just used ShortPixel with no luck.

I also tried ShortPixel on another site I have and it works fine.

And YES I cleared all caches when trying to get it to work.

ShortPixel customer support says their IP is likely being blocked BUT even if it is it should work when I disable the Security plugin and it doesn’t.

And keep in mind ShortPixel worked perfectly fine until All in One WP Security was installed so I’m convinced it’s the culprit here…

    Hi,

Did you also remove all the code between and including the following tags from your .htaccess file?

    # BEGIN All In One WP Security
    # END All In One WP Security

When the plugin was disabled it was all removed. I just checked it again to confirm this was the case and it was.

    Well???

The Plugin maker blames my Host (SiteGround), my Host blames you guys… and now you guys disappear…

Hi, try the following to completely remove our plugin from your site.

    – FTP to your host and delete the plugin’s folder. Although this is normally carried out when you deactivate and delete the plugin as the website administrator.

    – FTP the .htaccess file from your site to your computer and edit and remove all the code between and including the following tags: Make sure you upload the .htaccess file back into the same location you downloaded the file from via FTP.

    # BEGIN All In One WP Security
    # END All In One WP Security

    – Log into phpMyAdmin and locate the database for the website you are working on. Look for any table entry with the following name aiowps and delete those tables. There should be 6 tables associated with this plugin, in addition to the options settings. There will also be other entries for transients and plugin version etc. The following is a list of tables and entries found in the database.

Note: You might like to check the following URL Remove All In One WP Security Database Tables to learn how to search for the plugins tables in your database.

aiowps_events
aiowps_failed_logins
aiowps_global_meta
aiowps_login_activity
aiowps_login_lockdown
aiowps_permanent_block
commentmeta
comments

-There are other aiowps settings saved in the WordPress “options” table, under the option name “aio_wp_security_configs”. You should also delete the “aio_wp_security_configs” row in the options table.

The above steps will delete the plugin completely from your database and allow you to start from scratch if you want to install the plugin.

Let me know how you go.

    Kind regards

Thanks for this but at this time I restored my site to a snapshot of it from last week, even though this caused me hours of work today! I will keep your post handy in case I have any future issues.
