I can’t explain your issue, but it does appear that WordPress 4.5 now renames a page slug when you trash it with _trashed. I am assuming this is so that you can re-use a trashed page slug – which I do like.

Does that give you any clue?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Not sure it really helps. I made a brand new page, used ShortnIt to make its shortlink T1604 and it still went to _Trashed.

    created
    http://nc3.mobi/shortn-it-test-page/
works (left it up for you)

set short link to t1604, Updated,
    http://nc3.mobi/t1604
    and this appears
    http://nc3.mobi/twitter-april-2016__trashed/

So the “t1604” is not being re-pointed. If I had to guess I’d say there is a problem w/ShortnIt’s database. A utility that shows all the short links and their equivalents would be helpful, but I don’t see one. I purged the cache to make sure that wasn’t the problem either.

In short, no pun intended, “t1604” is damaged.

    thx

    did something else

    created
    http://nc3.mobi/landing-page-index/twitter-index/twitter-may-2016/
    works

Used ShortnIt to set its short link to t1605, updated
    http://www.nc3.mobi/t1605
    works

So the problem appears to be with “t1604”
(I think so, but WTF do I know about this???)
