# Shortcodes Work?

 * My understanding is that shortcodes don’t work with Gutenberg.
 * Just testing thins I pleasantly surprised to find that they do work? Using Toolset
   Types I am able to interpolate values from custom fields into text. Work on the
   classic, html and paragraph blocks. I even was able to use the featured image
   shortcode to add said featured image in text.

 * Shortcodes work just like before, we’re just trying to encourage developers to
   make blocks instead of them since shortcodes do not give a good representation
   of the end result for users.

 * Thanks. Good to know and will keep an eye out for blocks. Toolset Views has a
   block for archive views but it’s good to know that we have a choice to use shortcodes
   in their original format where needs must.
