• Hi Nicolas,

I am loving the smoothness of your modal window. This morning I noticed that the shortcodes in the modal are not working (displaying as plain text like [caldera_form id=”CF596e66ab808c9″]
) in the bbpress topic, forum and reply archives. They are working just fine in all other pages.
Here is one of my topic pages: click on the “Login” or “register” button in the top menu. A hover will appear where I put a shortcode that works well in any other pages. Also, you can click on “contact” in the footer to see another shortcode not working. No problem with the plugins created shortocode or the popup modal, as they are working just fine in all other pages.

I thought this is a bbpress issue and posted on their forum. But the moderator wouldn’t investigate it because-

bbpress cannot be responsible for making sure every other plugin in the world works with it

I checked by deactivating other plugins and no conflict found. To check if wordpress supports shortcodes in the archive pages, I put mailchimp form widget via shortcode in the footer and it worked in forum archives. So I am guessing the modal may not be supporting shortcodes in the archive pages.

Can you look into the matter if possible!

Hello, first, very sorry for the late reply, I have tried on a shop, blog and taxonomy pages, the shortcode works in the modal, so far the issue seems to only be on bbPress pages, I use no special code to call the shortcode, just the normal WordPress function “do_shortcode”.
Can you download this file and add it in the ocean-modal-window folder in wp-content/plugins/: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mtc31lm1wpt2qr6/ocean-modal-window.php?dl=0

    Tell me if it works.

    Hello,

It’s okay with the late reply.

I placed the file in my stagging site as you said, but doesn’t seem to be working. Cleared cache.

I am going to Buy the extension bundle so “pop up login” will help me with the login (and it won’t conflict with the bbpress I hope).

I guess I will have to remove the caldera contact form in the footer if the conflict with ocean modal can’t be solved..

Hi, I really don’t know why there is this problem, because I don’t use any special code that could cause this. Maybe you can ask to the bbPress support that to display the shortcode in the modal there is “do_shortcode” and if they can send you to the right direction to solve this, maybe I miss something.
I just tied on my local site bbPress with the popup login extension, it works perfectly, it is just the shortcode in the modal that I have the same issue, I will try to find why but apparently there is nothing on google to help me.

    Hello,

I am not going to bbpress support forum again! Anyway, thanks for looking into it Nicolas. I will use the pop up login instead. Have a good day.
