Support » Plugin: Jigoshop » Shortcodes from other plugins conflicting with Jigoshops codes?

  • Resolved Dusan Blaho

Hi and thanks for a great plugin.
I would like to know if there is a way to make shortcodes from another plugins (ultimate shortcodes) work on Jigoshop generated pages and archives. For example a shortcode calling a gallery applied on a product category page doesnt call a gallery, instead the shortcode appears on that page as a plain text. Can this be fixed?
    Thank you very much!

  • Hi Dusan Blaho,
    Thanks for appreciation!
Indeed there is a chance that other shortcodes are ommited to avoid conflicts, but actually that shouldn’t be an issue on such page.
We will check it out and let you know if it’s possible to change that behaviour.

Ah one more thing – how are you applying it?
To real page? With what name and shortcode in it?
    Or to product taxonomy description?

    Hi Marcin.
    Thank you for your reply.
The codes from Ultimate Shortcodes plugin work on my shop page as you can see here:
When applied on product taxonomy description, for example product category description it only shows as a text on frontend.
I need to say that im using rich text taxonomy editor plugin to be able to custom style archive pages.
To wrap it up it seems like shortcodes from other plugins work fine on Jigoshop generated pages but not on category and tag archives.
If this could be changed it we a very neat way of super customizing Jigoshop run stores.
    Thanks again.

Hm but does it work on description of other taxonomies? (standard categories, tags)? I think it’s limited for taxxonomy description across whole WordPress?

Marcin, i quickly tested your idea and the shortcodes work fine on standard category pages as seen here:

    Thanks, checking it out

    Hello @dusan Blaho,

I’ve been checking this out but inserting a shortcode into Post Tag description does not work, I’m using WordPress 3.9.2.

In this case it is not possible to make it work with Jigoshop tags and categories as they are using built-in WordPress ability to add custom taxonomies.

    Hello Amadeusz.

Thank you for your input. Of course you are right, i was misled by not realizing that I am using a plugin called Rich Text Tags, Categories, and Taxonomies that enables rich text editing of taxonomies.

With that plugin deactivated the shortcodes indeed don’t work on tags and category archive pages.

It would be a nice feature to have rich text editing enabled on jigoshop taxonomy pages, don’t you think?

    Thanks again 🙂
