Hello, sorry to see your rating here. It’s a shame you didn’t post into support prior to your rating. If you read on the plugin page it reads specifically: “Powerful Shortcode – Display reviews in your post and page content” is located under the Pro features of the plugin. The reason the shortcode is not working for you is because you are not using the Pro version. We would love for you to reconsider your rating.
You need better documentation then. It listed shortcode settings and features without any indication that was PRO only.
At the very top of the documentation for the plugin it reads:
“The documentation is written for the Pro version of the plugin but has some application to the free version. Please review this documentation prior to contacting support, it may just answer your questions.”
https://wordimpress.com/docs/google-places-reviews/#google-places-reviews-introduction
You should include an additional disclaimer in the plugin settings then. Or a different documentation page for the free version.
Ok thanks for the feedback. You should reconsider how you use the wordpress.org rating system.
The rating is what it is. We wanted a plugin that worked out of the box with no hassle and easy to understand features. As it is, this confuses pro features with free features without a clean, clear explanation (or sequestering) of each. We wasted time on our side setting it up which is what a well-crafted plugin is supposed to avoid.
Hopefully others will see it and this exchange and understand the limitations before jumping in like we did.
