@matt6303 – Currently the shortcode parameters for albums and galleries are required to be their respective IDs … please feel free to suggest their “slugs” as a Feature Request here: http://nextgen-gallery.com/feature-voting/

    Thanks!

Thank you. I have submitted a feature request.

Perhaps there is another way to accomplish what I am seeking, within the parameters of the plugin as it currently exists?

My goal is to display a related Album on ‘Category’ Archive pages for a custom post type.

The custom post type has many categories, and our thought is to create Albums with slugs that match the category names, so that our archive.php template would be able to display the proper Album dynamically.

Is there a way that I can accomplish this, outside of manually associating each NextGen ID with its corresponding Category within the archive template? I’d like to be able to have the end-user create new Albums and Categories without having to edit the archive template each time.

@matt6303 – Thanks for submitting the Feature Request … unfortunately, what you are describing is not currently available within NextGEN Gallery et al.

You may be able to build a custom template that would accomplish this but that would be outside the scope of support we offer at this time.
