The Events Calendar
[resolved] Shortcode to Display Events on Page (4 posts)

My project has a unique predicament.

The owner doesn't want the homepage to use sidebars (understandable--they're design focused as architects).

Is there a shortcode to display the next "x" upcoming events on the calendar? Within the body of a page?

Hey there dpeters911. Thanks for the note here, and for using The Events Calendar. If I understand what you're going for correctly, this should be doable with template tags (which serve a similar purpose to shortcodes).

Have you already checked out our template tag documentation at http://tri.be/support/documentation/ ? If I understand your request correctly, that ought to point you in the right direction. Let me know if not though.

I looked at the documentation you suggested roblagatta, however I am lost. What is the correct method to using the template tags? Is it within the wordpress admin panel or am I working with some code in the actual theme files?

    Thanks in advance,

Hey Anthony. Thanks for the note here; you'd be doing the latter, working with code in the actual templates themselves. You may want to check out our themer's guide, which goes into greater depth on that end. Check it out: http://tri.be/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/.

    That help?
