Support » Plugin: Simple Side Tab » shortcode support

  • Hi Scott-
I know you want to keep this plugin simple, but could you add plugin support for the URL field, so the “Tab URL” field accepts shortcodes from other plugins?

Or could you share how to edit the existing plugin code to do this?

    Thank you!

    Hello @jeffnye,

You can use the rum_sst_plugin_text_for_tab filter to change the output of the tab. Please have a look at the FAQ for details.

By using this filter, you could use the do_shortcode() function to run the output you need.

Give that a try and let me know how it works out.

    Hi Scott,

I am interested in a solution to this as well.

How can I add a short code to the URL? The example in the FAQ shows how to modify the text output. How can I do this for the URL?

@cedaroak, this should probably be in a new ticket. In what use case do you need a shortcode to create the URL? The plugin is designed to link the tab to a specific URL. Do you produce the URL dynamically?
