    Hey everybody,

I’m having some issues with the gallery plugin (though I’m not 100 % sure it’s actually that plugin).

    This is what’s happening:
Until recently (middle of November, I suppose that’s when some update happened) our page was working fine. We are posting pictures, but to protect peoples privacy, most of them are password-protected. When creating a post, that’s done by using a [member] … [/member] shortcode, in between would sit the gallery.
Since November, the gallery-shortcode inside that environment isn’t being transformed into HTML, instead it’s just showing up as plain text on the webpage (as long as you are logged in, if you’re not logged in, you’re seeing nothing, which is what you guys would be seeing if you visit that page…)
So instead of a gallery showing my nice pics I just get: [gallery link="file" columns="4" ids="19500,19728,19725,19727"] (or something).

The strange thing is: once I put the same gallery outside a [member]-environment, it’s all working fine showing the pictures the way I expect it.

Since I’ve found similar issues in different forums, I’ve haven’t found any with that specific behavior (e.g. https://wordpress.org/support/topic/photo-gallery-shortcodes-not-working/)

This is also effecting all our older posts, which is quite annoying. Any ideas what’s going on?

    Disclaimer:
I’m not the admin, don’t have the admin password and the guy is hard to contact at the moment (probably busy with his own business). Therefore updating is no solution right now.
Also: I’m not just no admin, but not even a real user, just some random guy how happened to being asked for support by his dad… Meaning that I’ve never worked with WP and also don’t really understand how it actually works (same like my dad…), which is why some crucial information might be missing in my request…

Any help would be highly appreciated,

    cheers,
    eloeffi

  • Hi,

In order, we check the issue could you please create a test page, activate the plugin on that page and share with us the URL of the page.
We have checked and not found our plugin on the shared page.

We will check and provide feedback.

    Thanks. Have a nice day.

    Hey editanazaryan,
    thanks for looking at this.
Have a look at this page: http://www.stamm-treverer.de/testgalerie/
I created two galleries, both showing the same pic, one being protected by the [member] [/member] tags

my source code looks like this:

    [gallery ids="20483"]
    [member]
    [gallery ids="20483"]
    [/member]

while the first gallery is working fine, the second one just puts the shortcode as plain text on the page (but only if you are logged in as a member). So to me, the page would look like this

    Cheers,

    Hi Oeffi,

Thanks for providing the details. I’m afraid the shortcode [gallery ids="20483"] isn’t Photo Gallery’s. You must be using a different plugin.

The shortcode of Photo Gallery looks like this:
    [Best_Wordpress_Gallery id="14"]

Please check what gallery plugins do you use and with which of them the above-mentioned gallery is created with.

    Cheers!
