In the previous post, you mentioned that if the OP adds datatables_lengthchange=25 that would limit the rows loaded to 25. He said it did not work, you asked for access to his site and then the post stoped. You did not respond with a fix?

I am having the same issue and form what I have read, datatables_lengthchange accepts either a 1 or 0 and displays or hides the Show xxx Entries dropdown, it does not affect the number of records that initially load?

For the general table defaults, I have it set to load all the records. I want to use the following shortcode in another part of the site where it only shows the first 5 records, but I am not able to figure out what the attribute would be?.

    [table id=20 hide_columns=”2,5″ show_rows=”1,3,4″ datatables_paginate=”1″ datatables_lengthchange=”0″ /]

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

To be honest, I don’t remember whether we ever solved the issue for that user. It might be possible that he never replied…

However, I have a feeling for what went wrong here: datatables_lengthchange is the wrong parameter for setting the number of rows! It will indeed only turn the dropdown on or off! To set the number of initially visible rows, the correct parameter is datatables_paginate_entries=25. Can you maybe try again with that?

    Regards,
    Tobias
