Support » Plugin: MailPoet - emails and newsletters in WordPress » Shortcode not working (newsletter:post_title)

  • I just upgraded to MailPoet 3. I have the Events Manager Pro plugin installed, which uses a custom post type called Events. I set up a automated post notification email to announce new events to our members. In the subject, I use the [newsletter:post_title] shortcode. When I send a preview email to myself, the event title shows up in the email subject as expected. But when I send out actual emails, the event title does not show up in the subject. This used to work in MailPoet 2. Any idea what the problem is?

  • Anyone from MailPoet out there?? I just copied and pasted my question into your contact form, but it bounced back.

Hi, I don’t know if I can help you, but I had the same problem. I solved it, but it was a simple error of typing. I wrote [newsletter: post_title] instead of [newsletter:post_title]. They look the same, but they aren’t. There is a (wrong) space between : and post_title and this simple error made the shortcode not working. I hope your problem is that simple. Bye.
