Hello, I hope this is not a mistake on my part but I would think what I’m doing is straight foward.

I installed the MetaSlider, activated the plugin on WordPress 5.2.3. I added two images to the MetaSlider library and it generated a shortcode for me. I then copied the shortcode and pasted it in my post but when I view the post, I do not see the slider.

I have Print JSS, Print CSS and No Conflict Mode all checked and I do not see any errors in the browser console. I’m using FireFox and also tested it on Chromium and neither one works.

My site has not been published yet. What can I do to troublshoot this?

    Thanks for any support.

  • Hi @bpejman

Does it work when you preview the slideshow from the settings page?

You can check the markup of the html for some of the code (if any).

You can disable all other plugins you have and check if it works, then if so activate one by one until i breaks again and report back.

Let me know if you find anything from that

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I’m able to preview the slideshow within the admin portal but it fails to show on my website. I don’t have any other plugins installed, just the MetaSlider. What’s strange is that I turned off Print JSS and Print CSS and turned it back on and it displays the slideshow but it’s non-interactive. Then it disappeared again. I also tried to use the “title” tag in the shortcode rather than “id” but that didn’t make a difference.

I thought this may be cache/permission related but other sliders work just fine. There may be something in my theme that’s causing the problem.

I will keep investigating and if I find the problem I will post it back here.

By the way, I really like this slider and like how it functions within the admin portal.

    Hi @bpejman

It very well could be a function in your theme that is causing the issue. If you have a URL to the site I can take a look to see if something stands out.

I’m having the same issue, but I am not able to preview the slideshow. It was working prior to the WordPress update 5.2.3. I have disabled all plugins and it still does not work. Is there a conflict with this new WP update?

    Hi @teigram

Can you open a new issue? While the symptoms might be similar the cause is often not. This way we can debug without causing confusion to others. Thanks

Also, check for errors in the browser’s developer tools for red messages after attempting to preview.

    Hi @bpejman

I’ll mark this as resolved as we didn’t hear back, but feel free to reply if needed.
