Support » Plugin: The Events Calendar » Shortcode No Longer Working?

    Hi,

I’m working with 2 different clients. Both are using The Events Calendar plugin. The first client has been using The Events Calendar for some time. They are using Version 4.0.5. In addition to their main Events page, they are displaying three upcoming events in a section of their home page by using the following shortcode:

    [upcoming_events num=3 cat=”Events” /]

The second client is new to The Events Calendar. They are using version 4.25. I would like to use the same method for displaying a few upcoming on the home page, but the shortcode above doesn’t work in the second client’s environment. Both clients are using the same theme.

I searched for the upcoming_events shortcode in your documentation, but could not find anything about it. Are you familiar with this shortcode?
Is it something that has become obsolete?

I know that I can use the Events List widget to display a subset of upcoming events in a sidebar, but what is the right way to display this as part of a page?

Thanks so much for your help,
    BC

  • Hi @bc563,

Thanks for getting in touch! The shortcode you’ve indicated above isn’t one I’m familiar with, and it may be functionality added by way of an unsupported third-party plugin. Is your first client using any other plugins in tandem with The Events Calendar? I’d consider checking there first!

At the moment, the only shortcode support we offer is through Events Calendar PRO. You can read more about the shortcodes we offer on our Knowledgebase here.

    I hope that helps!
