Shortcode for upcoming events doesn’t populate without street address

Hello Events-Manger friends,
I’m having trouble getting events to show up in the widget set up with short code. Apparently, without a street address, those events do not show up in the preview pane on the home page. The short code I’m using is:
[events_list_grouped mode=”monthly” country=”US”]#_EVENTLINK – #_EVENTDATES at #_EVENTTIMES<br />[/events_list_grouped]
I’m a total WordPress beginner so please excuse my total lack of knowledge. Of the the 3 calendar plugins I tried, this one seems to be the most user friendly.
