Hi there, I want to create a form that is connected to products. We have a lot of products so I dont want to create 100 forms but I also dont want the visitor to make a choice in dropdown field to choose the right product because they are already on the page of the right product they are interested in. Is it possible to sent an email notification and add the url of the page the form was sent from? So we can see what product they are interested in? Hope you understand what I mean! Thanks a lot!

    Hi @jannnnnneke,

If I’m not wrong you only want to know the products page URL? or Is there more information you are looking to collect?

How is the form added to the mentioned product pages? Is it via popup etc?

Have you tried the default settings of the “Hidden” field? It should allow you to add Embed URL, so that it would collect the URL of the page where you have the form.

Could you please check and see whether the above fits your need? If you still have issues then if possible please do share the page URL where you have the form, so that we could have a better idea.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Best Regards,

    Nithin

Yes that is perfect!! Only when I test it I dont see the correct URL. The productpage is domain.com/product/product-name (where the form is filled in) and the url I get in mailbox is domain.com/shop, the page where the product is placed but where no form is found or filled in. Any idea how to fix that? Thanks a lot!

PS. I’m using this hidden field now (is in Dutch): https://imgur.com/vrIx2qr

    Hi @jannnnnneke

This would mean that the URL may be, for some reason, detected incorrectly. Some of the cases I’ve seen in the past were when the actual URL was loaded via some AJAX rather than just redirected but it may not be the case here.

Could you try something before we go any further?: please edit that hidden field and chnage it from “Embed URL” to “Embed Post/Page ID” and then try submission again and see if it uses correct ID (it would be a numerical ID) or still incorrect.

    Let us know, please.

    Best regards,
    Adam

Hi Adam, thanks for thinking along! I tried and I see product ID number is correct! So that is working fine. Any idea how to fix the url? Thanks!

    Hi @jannnnnneke

    Thank you for the update.

Just in case, are you using Woocommerce or a different plugin for the product?

Would it be possible to share any product URL so we can take a look at your form since that is a hidden field?

    Hi @jannnnnneke

I made a test on my lab site with the same URL structure and these hidden values: Embed Post/Page ID, Embed Post/Page Title, Embed URL, and all work fine in my email notifications. Please follow the below guide and let us know about the results:

Please deactivate all plugins except Formiantor and check if the problem is gone. If so, then enable all plugins one by one and find which one is having a conflict. If there is no positive result, switch to the default WordPress theme like 2019, and see if it works.

Before this test, we recommend full site backup or running this test on the staging site.

    Kind Regards,
    Kris

    Hi @jannnnnneke

The update was quite some time ago (on Apr 12) but if you used previous version so far then yes – it is possible that this update fixed it for you. When testing it earlier, we assumed that you are already on the most recent version – the recent update did, indeed, include some fixes related to hidden fields.

    Best regards,
    Adam
