# Shortcode for Adsense Error

 * Hi there,
 * I tried using a shortcode for an Adsense horizontal ad placement, and when i 
   place the shortcode in the homepage of the website, nothing shows up.
   Why and
   what can be done?

 * Thanks for reaching out.
 * I recommend always testing your ad code and the placement for this ad separately.
   Please create an image or dummy ad and assign it to the [placement of your liking](https://wpadvancedads.com/manual/placements/).
   If you want to utilize a shortcode you can use the manual placement in _Advanced
   Ads > Placements_.
 * If the image ad is showing at the requested position, and your ad code is working
   without Advanced Ads you can change the ad connected to this placement in the
   placement settings. Now you can be sure the ad code is present where you’re looking
   for it.
