The Profile form is not meant to work with a shortcode.
Uhm… can you be a little more specific please? What is TML then good for?
What else should i use then?
TML is good for many things – but the main thing is getting rid of the default WordPress login/registration process and handling it within your site’s theme. That’s it’s primary purpose.
I’m getting the same result on a page that has the shortcode to display login and with “enable themed profiles” turned off. Once logged in, I should be getting an option to log out, not a confusing option to log in again.
The page is :
http://www.yearbox.com/my-custom-calendar/
Do me a favor. Visit wp-login.php and login. Then, visit wp-login.php again. What happens?
I see that the wp-login.php page behaves differently from the login page that TML creates. If you visit the TML login page when you are already logged in, instead of being asked to log in again, you get avatar plus links to profile and dashboard (or whatever else you have set up in user links). Can this same functionality be achieved using the shortcode on another page? (Maybe by redirecting with a query string or something?)
Do you have the action set in the shortcode?
Is there a list of available actions somewhere? The only actions I can find mentioned anywhere are login, register, and profile. What action would I use to show the user a login form when they are not logged in and user links when they are logged in?
That doesn’t to it. Using shortcode:
[theme-my-login action=”login”]
When I view the page with the shortcode while logged in, I am still getting the prompt to log in again instead of the user links.
[theme-my-login default_action=”login”]
Ah. Now I see my mistake. Thanks.
again this is coz of really bad bad documentation for shotcodes 🙁
