    Hi,

I am trying to use the shortcode to display a specific Post Category called “Uncategorized” (i.e. post_id=”1″) within a page however nothing is displayed.

Here is the Shortcode used: [related_posts_by_tax post_id=”1″]
The Shortcode is currently inserted on a new line after the last sentence in the body ending in “…security camera imaging for heightened safety.”
Here is the URL to the page: ledcoamerica.com/lighting-applications/airports/

NOTE: Neither the Shortcode or Widget display any results.

    Hi LittleJackMKTG

You’re using a Post ID and not a Category ID.

Try it without the post ID:

    [related_posts_by_tax]

Or include only posts that also have one or more of the categories as the post where you insert the shortcode:

    [related_posts_by_tax taxonomies="category"]

Or include only posts that also have the category “Uncategorized” assigned.

    [related_posts_by_tax taxonomies="category" include_terms="1"]

NOTE: Neither the Shortcode or Widget display any results.

What categories does the post where you insert the shortcode have?

Ok, so we are making progress!

I used the suggested shortcode examples you provided. From a post that is currently assigned the Category “uncategorized” (or “1”) related posts were displayed. However, when I changed the category of the Shortcode (i.e. Changed “1” to “166”) no related posts were displayed even though there are posts assigned to category “166”.

Also, will this shortcode work within pages (or only posts)?

Does the post have category 166 assigned?

Showing unrelated posts is not an option right now, but I think this feature needs to be added as it’s requested more and more.

I’m working on a beta version with this functionality. Should be done in a couple days.
