# Shortcode and the API Key

 * I plan to use a shortcode to place the video gallery into a page. Does the API
   key have to be added to the shortcode? I am not seeing it within the examples,
   but I see it as an option within the widget.

 * Yes, you should always use your own API key. Example:
 * [Youtube_Channel_Gallery user=”Autodesk” maxitems=”16″ thumb_columns_ld=”4″ key
   =”yourapixxxxxx”]
