short text showing on web page

When I paste the shortcode
[contact-form-7 id=”49″ title=”Contact form 1″]

onto my contact page, those words actually show up verbatim on my finished webpage. The contact form is there OK, but the words :
[contact-form-7 id=”49″ title=”Contact form 1″]

are also there on the finished page.
How can I get the contact form there, without the actual short code showing up too?
