short code for dummies

    I am writing a review blog and I want to be able to post a star rating for several aspects of each item I am reviewing. I have tried installing several star rating plugins. I am having trouble figuring out how to install the short code.

    I am supposed to enter [rating:4/5]. But, even if I enter it under HTML it comes out as text.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Post a link to the plugin you’re attempting to use, and i’m sure someone will happily respond to help.

    Did you activate the plugin (aside from the point above)?
