installed plugin
added suggested shortocde to text widget
tried manual function.php to active shortcodes in widgets
tried even 2 different plugins that do this shortcodes in widgets

this menu simply work

Hi,

You can add the following code to your theme functions.php file.

It may help you to support the shortcode in text widget.

add_filter('widget_text','do_shortcode');

Thank you for the update. Unfortunately I have followed numerous guides including the one you have attached. Still no menu in the widget.

Too much time and effort now spent just to get a simple menu in the sidebar. Ill use different plugin.
Maybe future feature suggest – built in widget for the side menu?
