 * I have various shortcodes set up on my WordPress site, which I can use in a post
   and which render accordingly. Is there any way to use a shortcode as the dwfault
   value of a Caldera Forms field such that the shortcode is parsed instead of showing
   the actual shortcode? In other words, the shortcode
 * [dna-user-profile field=”first_name”]
 * works in the text at teh top of the page if the user is logged in, but not within
   a form field if I set it as the default value. Is there any “trick” that I can
   use to force teh shortcode to render? Thanks!
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fshorcodes-as-default-values%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * Just to clarify a bit, this is what I want to do, set the default value of a
   field in the form:
 * [caldera_form id=”CF59c96029c00c5″ fld_8768091=”[dna-user-profile field=”first_name”]”]
 * I tried every combination of single quotes, double quotes and no quotes, but
   apparently that’s not going to work, so is there a way to include the shortcode
   so it’s rendered when the form is displayed?

 * Hi altimac – this is a cool idea, and I see how it could be useful. However,
   when it comes to manipulating what shortcodes may or may not pull, that’s more
   of a WordPress support request than a Caldera Forms support request. I would
   recommend asking this question, with Caldera Forms as a use case, in a more generic
   WordPress support forum. I hope this is helpful, and also please don’t hesitate
   to ask other Caldera Forms questions directly on our website at calderaforms.
   com/support.
