Support » Plugin: WooCommerce » Shop link navigate directly to category?

My webshop is now 99% finished for its launch on 1 July. One more finishing touch: Is it possible that when customers click the link to the shop from the top bar in Storefront, to haev it navigate directly to a particular category of products?

It’s been a long time since I was working on it, so I don’t recall how it looks by default, but anyway I have a catagory tree and by default the shop navigates to the parent category that contains all items. I would like it to navigate to one of the subcategories instead, as it would look better in presentation.

    Hi @teuptworkshop

Depending on the theme you are using on the site, there are options available to choose what is visible on the Shop and Category pages. These settings are located in the customizer, when you go to wp-admin> Appearance> Customize> WooCommerce> Product Catalog

You can choose to show subcategories on the Category page, and categories on the Shop page.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Amanda, thanks for your reply. I think I’ve got that all set up right, the only thing I want now is that when the shop link from the top bar is pressed, it navigates directly to a subcategory that I specify. Currently it links to “/shop”, and I would like it to link to “/product-category/ (my category)”, so that the customer lands on that category when they start out browsing products. But I’m not sure if that’s possible…

    Hi @teuptworkshop

Thanks for clarifying .. you should be able to do this, following the suggestions on this post:

Hi Amanda, thanks for that, that works perfectly! 🙂
